Ford compression couplings are manufactured for copper/plastic tubing (CTS), polyethylene pipe (PEP), polyvinyl chloride pipe (PVC) and lead pipe (S, XS, XXS). Each Ford compression nut is stamped with a code corresponding to the pipe or tubing diameter it is suitable for.Recognizing the potential hazard of existing lead service lines, most utilities have ongoing programs to deal with the elimination of lead lines. As buried lead services are unearthed because of construction or line failure, an opportunity exists to replace these lead lines with a different type of material. By using the Lead-Pack couplings you can attach copper, iron, plastic or PVC to an existing lead service line.
This field-proven Corporation Stop incorporates the performance-proven design features of the popular Ford Ball Valve. It reduces the inherent problems of hard turning and of temporary weeping under high test pressures, which is sometimes encountered in standard plug-type Corporation Stops. The Ford Ballcorp is available in 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2" sizes, with most styles of outlet connections. It may be installed in either a dry main or a main under pressure with a standard tapping machine or saddle. During the installation of almost every Corporation Stop, a wrench must be used across its body to make final adjustments in the main or saddle, or to connect the service line to its outlet. The “square” design puts the wrench flats where they should be – at the strongest part of the body, thus minimizing the danger of leaks from distortion.
Ford Ball Valve Curb Stops are ideal for use in water service lines. They are watertight in either direction at pressures up to 300 psi, easy turning, non-binding, and contribute minimum pressure loss. These characteristics are added to superb design, quality, and precise manufacturing. A variety of end connections are available for the Ford Ball Valve Curb Stop including connectors for copper, iron or plastic pipe. The connection ends are integral or secured with adhesive to prevent unintentional disassembly in the field. Curb stops are available in sizes from 3/4” to 2”.

Ford pipe restraint products provide a fast, economical method of restraining water main connections, valves and hydrants. Available for PVC and ductile iron pipe, the complete Uni-Flange® line eliminates the need for expensive, time-consuming installation of concrete thrust blocks. No threading, welding, or grooving is necessary. It is ideal for projects that involve retro-fitting of existing piping systems. Pipe fabrication can be performed on site by using plain end pipe, a pipe cutter and a wrench.
Uni-Flange® adapters can be freely rotated before the flange bolts are inserted and tightened to facilitate bolt alignment with the facing flange. Unlike conventional threaded or welded flanges, these restraint adapters will permit pipe deflection during installation. Uni-Flange® products offer built-in end restraint. No tie rods or other forms of anchoring are necessary within normal working pressures.When future maintenance is required on flanged equipment such as meters or valves, the Uni-Flange® product can be easily disassembled and moved back on the pipe. This facilitates removal of the flanged equipment. Threaded and welded flanges do not offer this feature.
One of the most important jobs of a meter pit setting in cold climates is to prevent meter and service line freeze-ups during the winter months. The theory of the Ford pit design is that the depth of the service shall be below that of the lowest frost line and the heat from the base of the meter pit shall circulate and keep the meter setting above it from freezing. The internal service lines are kept at a minimum of 2" from the pit wall, thus providing additional freeze protection. The top of the pit is equally important. In colder climates, the double lid cover provides an insulating air space between the top lid and the interior lid of the pit. Ford covers are also designed wider at the base than at the top which exposes as little surface area as possible to the cold outside air.

Many older services have the meter installed in an incorrect position. To maximize the longevity of a water meter the AWWA recommends a horizontal meter setting. The Basement Resetter corrects this problem, since its inlet and outlet threads are attached to the existing meter couplings. The meter is then placed into the setter in the correct horizontal position and the entire installation job takes only a few minutes.
Ford manufactures service saddles for all types of water mains ranging in size from 4” to 30”. Ford service saddles are used to install corporation stops on water main pipe including iron, PVC, and asbestos-cement. Saddles constructed of ductile iron, brass, or stainless steel are available in all the popular sizes and for most metric-sized pipe. Saddles feature 3/4" through 2" tapped outlets manufactured to ANSI/AWWA C800 specification. Fabricated steel saddles are also available in 3" and 4" iron pipe thread outlets.Ford Stainless Steel Saddles provide quick and easy installation for permanent service line connections to PVC water mains. Ductile iron saddles are available with either single or double (electro-galvanized) steel straps or with optional stainless steel bands. Brass saddles are cast of 85-5-5-5 waterworks brass. The popular S70 and S90 series feature a hinged design and the 101B and 202B series incorporate silicon bronze straps or optional stainless steel bands.
