When water is heated, it expands due to a phenomenon known as thermal expansion. With the addition of a backflow preventer to your plumbing system, water cannot expand back towards the water main and can cause hot water tanks to go into relief. Expansion tanks are designed to safely absorb the excess water expansion and prevent relief valves from triggering. Additional features:
- For use with potable water systems.
- Mounting - Pipe or free standing.
- Inlet connection - male or female thread.
