The FloSearch transmitter is identical in size and shape to the Tricon E3 transmitter and also is mounted between the meter body and the existing register making it ideal for shared use on a utility water meter. The FloSearch transmitter is based on switch closure technology and provides pulse output rates (frequency) much lower than the Tricon E3 transmitter. This transmitter does not require specific ordering requirement in relation to meter size and type. One common FloSearch transmitter is useable on all Neptune water meter sizes and types.
The SmartTrol™ is a remote instrument designed for flow monitoring and batching. It has an 8-digit bright alphanumeric display. The two pulse inputs (A and B) will accept up to 10,000 pulses per second of digital count. The inputs can be monitored separately or can be combined into a single count which can in-turn be used to provide a relay output for valve control or signal indication that a batch is complete. The controller can display volume total, rate of flow or grand total for up to two Neptune water meters equipped with any of the above transmitters. The SmartTrol is designed to be panel mounted and when mounted in the correct enclosure is NEMA 4 rated.
The Tricon E3 transmitter provides an interface between the water meter and an electronic controller for batching processing, monitoring flow totals and flow rate data. This works with any Neptune water meter and mounts between the meter body and the existing register. It is designed to independently transmit data to the premise owner while not interfering with the operation of the utility billing register data collection. The transmitter can provide a transistor-type pulse output proportional to the volume measured or a 4-20mA signal proportional to the meter’s rate of flow. Typically this transmitter outputs pulses at a much higher frequency than switch closure type transmitters. This transmitter must be ordered according to size and type of Neptune water meter being used.
The Tricon S Transmitter can be used in applications where a switch closure that is proportional to the flow rate is required. This transmitter uses reed switch technology and comes in a wide variety of calibrated switch closures. The transmitter can be situated up to 1,000 feet from the building controller. This transmitter is ideal for sub meters within a building to aggregate and compare to an incoming master meter. Because this is a combined dry contact transmitter and register, it cannot be used in conjunction with a utility billing water meter applications. Customers must use either the FloSearch transmitter or the Tricon E3 transmitter which allow independent operation of two data systems on the same meter.
