Designed to prevent water meter freeze-ups in the coldest climates. Heat from the base of the meter pit circulates and keeps the meter above from freezing. The internal service lines are kept 2" from the pit wall, providing additional freeze protection. The double lid cover adds an insulating air space between the top lid and the interior lid of the pit. Additional features and benefits:
Many older services have the meter installed in an incorrect position. To maximize the longevity of a water meter the AWWA recommends a horizontal meter setting. The Basement Resetter corrects this problem, since its inlet and outlet threads are attached to the existing meter couplings. The meter is then placed into the setter in the correct horizontal position and the entire installation job takes only a few minutes.
