Ford inside copper setters are designed for new water meter installations, existing service line installations and settings for a variety of special applications. While adding a small initial cost to meter installation they can provide long-term cost saving advantages.Meter horns can be quickly and easily cut into existing water service lines. Electrical bonding along with proper water meter position and spacing is always assured. This makes future meter change-outs simple and trouble-free. Ford meter setting devices are available with optional integral service valves, integrated check valves and service line connections for any pipe or tubing material.
Thousands of installations in hundreds of metering programs have proven that the Kornerhorn saves time and money when setting water meters in basements. Meter couplings, pipe fittings, and electrical bonding devices are not required. The Kornerhorn can position the water meter horizontally in a vertical pipe and in close quarters, such as in the corner of a basement or closet.
Many older services have the meter installed in an incorrect position. To maximize the longevity of a water meter the AWWA recommends a horizontal meter setting. The Basement Resetter corrects this problem, since its inlet and outlet threads are attached to the existing meter couplings. The meter is then placed into the setter in the correct horizontal position and the entire installation job takes only a few minutes.
